MLS Playoffs - AYSA Alumni Advance to Conference Finals!

AYSA ALUMNI MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN MLS PLAYOFFS

The MLS Playoffs are well underway with the conclusion of second round action last evening… Four teams remain in the hunt for the 2012 MLS Cup Championship. Of the four, two of them have AYSA alums that are contributing in a major way:

DC UNITED:

Brandon McDonald (Left in photo) (Cisco & Sereno) has been a mainstay along the backline for United. “B-Mac” has started and played nearly every minute for DC this season in solid fashion. Fellow Arizonan Nick DeLeon (Right in photo) (Cisco) has made a strong case for “Rookie of the Year” honors. DeLeon scored the game winner in the 89th minute on an incredible shot to advance his team to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win over the New York Red Bulls. CLICK HERE FOR A VIDEO OF DELEON’S GOAL

SEATTLE SOUNDERS:

A member of the former Tempe Warriors, AYSA alum Brad Evans has had an incredible season for Seattle. Evans, a graduate of Mountain Pointe High started and played the full 90 as Seattle knocked off Real Salt Lake 1-0 last Thursday evening to advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Galaxy. In the ‘81st minute, Brad had an assist on an incredible goal by Mario Martinez. CLICK HERE FOR A VIDEO OF THE SEATTLE GOAL
