Tribute to Former AYSA Volunteer Jim Green

A long-time member and supporter of Arizona Youth Soccer Association, James William Green was born on 7/9/37 in Star City, Arkansas and passed away peacefully on 2/21/14.  Jim had three children, Gina, Ronda and Jason, and six loving grandchildren will miss him greatly as will his sister Mary in NV and her family in CA.

In 1984, Jim and his wife, Donna, moved the family to Chandler from California after working 35 years for United Airlines and the Machinists Union following a 4 year stint the US Air Force.

During these years in Arizona not only did Jim enjoy spending time with his family,  he also volunteered in various capacities within the clubs associated with the Arizona Youth Soccer Association as well as serving for a number of years on the Board of Directors of that organization.  Through his time and personal contribution he was able to assist many young people with equipment donations and scholarships to play.

Because of Jim’s love for the sport of soccer and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arizona Youth Soccer Association.  Checks may be sent to the AYSA office at 9034 N 23rd Avenue Ste 10, Phoenix, AZ 85021.  Credit card donations can be taken over the phone at 602-433-9202.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 29th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 739 W. Erie, Chandler, AZ with family greetings at  9:30am and service from 10-11:30 led by Pastor Lee Rehrer.
